Note from LNS (Lacrosse Nova Scotia)
Roster:
Anyone attending the school can play, but you can only dress 18 players and 2 goalies for each game.
Goalies:
Goaltenders need to wear a dangler (neck protector). Some teams last season were unaware of this.
Players:
Mouth guards are mandatory
Suspensions:
High School Lacrosse suspensions from last season will carry over into this season. It is up to the athletic directors to police this and follow any MHSAA rules. If a suspended player plays, the offending team will forfeit that game and any other game(s) the suspended player plays in. Also, suspensions from other High School sports carry over to High School lacrosse until the full suspension is served.
if there was an egregious penalty applied to a player who then plays in a sanctioned LNS league that we could consider further action (a match penalty, gross misconduct, etc) and potentially enforce discipline there.
Lastly, make sure players understand that lacrosse is a contact sport, but we will not tolerate players acting out and fighting and causing mayhem on the floor. Officials are instructed to remove any players not trying to play lacrosse and only there to fight and make a spectacle. We reserve the right to remove any player or entire team from the tournament, potentially permanently, at any time, if this is deemed to be true.
