Tournament Rules

Rules:

We will abide by all LNS/CLA Junior rules unless overridden by MHSAA rule(s).

All games 3 x 15 min run time (3 minute warm up, 1 min between periods). Penalties will be 2:00. Game clock will stop only when a goal is scored (or deemed necessary by the referee (Injury, etc.)).

Ties: 3-minute sudden-death overtime, except for the quarter-final and semi-final playoffs (overtime will stop after the 1-hour time limit; there will be a shootout). The finals will be played until a winner is decided within the 1.5 hours allowed, then a shootout.

Shootout: 3 from each side will go (home team first), and if a winner is not determined, sudden death (cannot repeat shooters until all runners have shot)

Playoffs:

Female:  Top 2 teams in Division 1, top team in Division 2, and one wildcard (best record left, either division)

Open: First-place team in each division

Playoff Tie Breaker:

A) Head-to-head record (if only 2 tied)

B) Best win/loss record between tied teams.

C) If all tied teams have not played each other, best plus/minus (all games (max +/- 7)). **Overtime wins count as 0**

D) Least goals against (all games).

E) Most goals for (all games).

F) Coin toss.

Note:

Players deemed by referees (or the organizing committee) as not trying to play lacrosse (acting dangerously, taking runs at players, intent to injure, fighting, etc.) or making a mockery of the game will be asked to leave the tournament immediately and suspended for all remaining games without appeal. Players and coaches can and will be disciplined further by NSSAF, SSNS, and LNS, etc., and all suspensions can and will be carried over to other Metro High School sports, LNS-sanctioned and MMLL league lacrosse events when warranted.
